CROWD FUNDING

Our school sensitizes the students and teachers towards reaching out to the needy and the destitute through organisations like ‘Fuel a Dream’. We have raised funds for our drivers and attenders and elederly with cateract surgery requirements.

1MIB

8 students (girls) were mentored by IMIB to represent the country and the school at the United Nations. The projects varied from education for the girl child to women’s health and hygiene and creation of jobs for the marginalized.

REAP BENEFIT

The students of DPSBN, in association with the organization ‘Reap benefit ‘ reach out to solve the civic problems. DPSBN has a dynamic connection with the community. Our students visit government schools and lend a helping hand in making arrangements for basic amenities.

NCC

The school’s NCC cadets took an active part in the Covid relief activities. The school also hosted a camp for 400 cadets from 8Kar Batallion

The school promoted physical wellbeing during the pandemic through regular yoga and dance classes. The Physical Education department promoted physical movement through fun activities in coordination with Fit India and Khelo India programmes.

ANNUAL FOOD FEST

ANNUAL FOOD FEST is organized by the students to raise funds for the underprivileged. Charity is rendered to different organizations.

STUDENTS APPs DEVELOPMENT

STUDENTS developed apps for distributions of foods and essential commodities for covid infected families during the second wave of the pandemic. Alumni helped in oxygen cylinder distribution, bed allotment and ICU admissions, working closely with BBMP.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

The school offered telecounselling services for all stake holders during the entire pandemic. It also initiated a peer mentoring programme on mental health. It hosted the 4th edition of annual symposium on inclusion.

SIGN LANGUAGE AND BRAILLE

The students of DPSBN are trained in sign language and braille during hobby classes. The aim is to build familiarity and compassion with the differently abled.

NIOS

DPSBN is an all India accredited centre for NIOS. We have been successfully conducting classes for students enrolled in higher secondary and senior secondary

OPEN BASIC EDUCATION

DPSBN provides elementary education at three levels, for school drop-outs and neo-literates. Students who belong to the marginalized section procure education with the best infrastructure and other facilities. We unanimously join hands with the MHRD in providing basic Education to a sizable number of learners. The OBE students have easy access to the computer Labs, Atal Tinkering Lab, Library and Sports Complex.

BAN SINGLE USE PLASTIC

Ms. Faiza, a first year undergraduate student and alumni of DPS Bangalore North collected single use plastic in the form of pens, caps, refills and single use plastic bottles to build a 5 ft by 5ft oyster to raise awareness on the ban and the need to save our oceans.

VISIT TO ORGANISATIONS

Our students visit RV college and under the tutelage of Senior professors on various processes in Bio technologies. It was organized by Mrs. Jyotsna Ayaagiri

LITTLE SISTERS FOR THE POOR

DPSBN extends a helping hand for this Home for the Aged. The inmates are elderly people above the age of 65. We selflessly contribute for their wellbeing.

WEBINARS

The school conducted multiple webinars on various topics from social wellbeing to mental health, academics to sport, culture and innovation all through the year at regional and national level.

YOGA FOR ALL

The Yoga Department regularly organizes yoga events for the entire community and all stake holders.

DPSBN adheres to its motto ’Service Before self’. We are involved with many – other charities and organizations like Spastic Society of Karnataka, Retina India, Cancer Aid, National Institute for the Blind, Rotary club, CMCA, Goonj, Sahas, Enfold, Ability Foundation, Parikrama, etc. We raise funds for these organizations by holding food fests, competitions, and also by selling some of the products made by the inmates of these organizations.
