Kindergarten at DPSBN understands that children need more than just a strong foundation in the core curriculum; children need to develop a compassionate understanding of the world around them to bring about holistic growth. Aligning ourselves to the guidelines laid down by NEP 2020, a skill-based approach is followed to make children future ready. We adopt a multi-sensory, activity-based approach where subjects are seamlessly integrated emphasizing real-life application, a child is the center of our learning process.

In partnership with the Freadom reading app, a platform that provides a plethora of interesting stories and activities which are grade-appropriate, we hope to create a nation full of readers.

The lessons and activities are designed to help children exercise their multiple Intelligence. Each child is provided with ample opportunities to participate in these activities to develop their multiple Intelligence. Experiential learning is practised in its true sense where children ‘learn by doing’ and reflect on the experience which enriches their learning. Well-planned experiential learning programs stimulate academic inquiry by promoting interdisciplinary learning.
Topics of English, Mathematics, and General awareness are mostly conducted through a multi-sensory approach. “There is nothing in the intellect that was not first in the senses,” -- Aristotle.
Oral language development and pre-writing skills are reinforced to lay a strong foundation for language and writing skills.
Circle time is a happy time when children are free to interact and share their experiences. Circle time is well planned to develop a wide range of skills and attitudes such as confidence, self-esteem, speaking, and listening. Brain gym is an integral part of circle time.
Children channelize their energy through Music & Movement. The gross motor, fine motor skills, body balance, coordination, and sense of rhythm develop along the musical journey.
Art integration is a cross-curricular pedagogical approach adopted in kindergarten that utilizes various aspects and forms of art as the basis for learning concepts across subjects creating a joyful environment.
To create a nation whose future citizens are rich in their values and proud of their cultural heritage, children are instilled with values in their daily life and familiarized with the local context. Children are made aware of Nature conservation. We promote multilingualism through an activity- ‘Language of the month’ where the children are introduced to folk stories, songs, and simple phrases in that language.
With a strong belief in Outcome-based learning, various fun-filled activities are carefully scaffolded to bring the desired learning outcome.
A system of “Continual Informal Evaluation” is followed which evaluates students based on classwork, themes-based worksheets, projects, and observation. An assessment report highlighting various aspects of a child’s development is submitted to the parents biannually.
With well-equipped smart boards, activity space with dedicated corners of ECE set up, ample outdoor play area, engaging storytelling sessions, Nature walk, and exploration beyond books; DPSBN provides a nurturing environment for young learners to not only attain Literacy and Numeracy skills but to become lifelong thinkers and learners.
